How do I find a trainer?
Athletes and parents can discover trainers directly through the DAWG app. Trainers can be found on the Featured Trainers section of the Home page or by visiting the Trainers page. If you're looking for a specific trainer, you can search by name. You can also use the filter options to narrow your search by: Sport Position Maximum Distance (miles) This makes it easy to find trainers that match your goals, sport, and location.
Can I search for trainers near me?
Yes. The Trainers page includes a distance filter that allows you to search for trainers within a specified number of miles from your location. You can also filter trainers by sport and position to find the best fit for your training needs.
What sports are available on DAWG?
DAWG supports a growing variety of sports and is continually expanding as new trainers join the platform. Athletes can currently search for trainers in: Acrobatics & Tumbling Baseball Basketball Football Golf Soccer Softball Tennis Track & Field Volleyball Trainer availability may vary by sport and location. While DAWG currently features trainers in Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Football, we are actively recruiting trainers across all supported sports to provide even more opportunities for athletes and families. If you don't see a trainer in your sport yet, check back regularly as new trainers are added to the platform.
How do I book a training session?
Start by browsing trainers through the Featured Trainers section on the Home page or by searching on the Trainers page. You can search for a specific trainer by name or use filters such as sport, position, and distance to find the right fit. Once you've found a trainer, visit their profile to learn more about them. Trainer profiles may include: Bio and training philosophy Sports and positions they coach Services offered Pricing information Reviews from previous athletes and families When you're ready to book, select a service and request a session based on the trainer's availability. After a session request is submitted, the trainer will receive a notification and can: Approve the request Decline the request Suggest an alternative date or time Once a session is approved, you'll be directed to a secure checkout process powered by Stripe to complete payment and confirm your booking.
Are trainers verified?
Yes. All trainers must complete DAWG's onboarding process before they are permitted to offer paid training services through the platform. As part of onboarding, trainers are required to successfully pass a background check conducted through Yardstik, a trusted third-party screening provider. Trainers must also complete any required identity verification, payment onboarding, and platform compliance requirements before accepting paid sessions. While DAWG takes steps to help create a trusted training environment, we encourage athletes and parents to review trainer profiles, experience, services offered, and reviews when selecting a trainer.
Where do training sessions take place?
Training locations are determined by the trainer and may vary depending on the sport, service, and facility availability. Many trainers conduct sessions at: Local sports complexes Public fields or parks Batting cages Indoor training facilities Gymnasiums Other approved training locations Training location details will be provided before your session so you know where your athlete will be training.
Can parents stay and watch training sessions?
Yes. Parents and guardians are encouraged to remain actively involved in their athlete's training experience. While participation policies may vary by trainer and facility, parents are welcome to communicate with trainers regarding expectations before the session.
What ages can use DAWG?
DAWG is designed to help youth athletes connect with trainers and training opportunities that support their athletic development. To use the DAWG platform, users must be at least 18 years old. Because many athletes training through DAWG are minors, a parent or legal guardian is typically responsible for creating an account, booking sessions, completing payments, and managing the athlete's training experience. Trainer services may vary based on the athlete's age, skill level, and the trainer's areas of expertise. We encourage families to review trainer profiles and communicate with trainers to ensure a good fit for their athlete's needs.
Is DAWG available on Android?
Currently, the DAWG app is available exclusively on Apple devices through the App Store. We recognize that many athletes, parents, and trainers use Android devices, and expanding DAWG to Android is one of our top development priorities. Our team is actively working toward bringing the DAWG experience to the Google Play Store so more members of the community can access the platform. In the meantime, iPhone and iPad users can download DAWG today through the App Store and begin connecting with trainers, booking sessions, and growing their game. How do I contact my trainer?
Once a training session has been booked, parents and guardians can communicate directly with their trainer through DAWG's in-app messaging system. The in-app messaging feature provides a convenient way to discuss session details, ask questions, coordinate schedules, and stay connected before and after training sessions. To help maintain a safe and trusted environment for athletes, families, and trainers, communications sent through DAWG's messaging system are retained within the platform. We encourage users to communicate through the app whenever possible so conversations remain organized, accessible, and connected to the training experience. Some trainers may also choose to share their social media accounts or other contact information on their profiles. While these options may be available, we recommend using DAWG's in-app messaging system whenever possible.
What if I need to cancel a session?
DAWG understands that schedules can change. If you need to cancel a session, refund eligibility and cancellation outcomes depend on factors such as when the cancellation occurs, session status, and applicable platform policies. In general: Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled session may be eligible for refund processing. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled session may not be eligible for an automatic refund. Trainers may have the option to provide discretionary refunds in certain situations. When am I charged for a session?
You are not charged when you submit a session request. After you request a session, the trainer will have the opportunity to approve the request, decline it, or suggest an alternative date or time. Once the trainer confirms the session, you will be directed to a secure checkout process powered by Stripe to complete payment and finalize your booking. The total amount charged may include the trainer's session fee, applicable DAWG platform fees, and any other charges disclosed during checkout. The final amount for your booking will always be displayed before payment is submitted.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. DAWG does not store your payment card information. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, one of the world's leading payment processing platforms trusted by millions of businesses and customers. When you complete a booking, payment information is entered directly through Stripe's secure checkout process. This means your payment details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by DAWG. Can I see reviews before booking a trainer?
Yes. Trainer profiles may include reviews and ratings from athletes and families who have previously trained with that trainer. Reviews can help you learn more about a trainer's coaching style, communication, professionalism, and overall training experience before requesting a session. In addition to reviews, we encourage parents and athletes to review the trainer's biography, services offered, sports and positions coached, pricing, and experience to determine if they are the right fit for your goals.
Who conducts trainer background checks?
DAWG partners with Yardstik, a trusted third-party background screening provider, to conduct trainer background checks as part of the onboarding process. Before a trainer can accept paid bookings through the platform, they must successfully complete DAWG's required onboarding process, including the applicable background check review. Our goal is to help create a safe and trusted environment where athletes, parents, and trainers can connect with confidence.

How do I become a trainer on DAWG?
To become a trainer, create an account, complete your profile, submit any required information, and complete the onboarding process. Trainers must meet all platform requirements before offering services through DAWG.
Is a background check required?
Yes. All trainers must successfully complete a background check before they can offer training services through DAWG. This requirement helps promote a safer environment for athletes, guardians, and trainers across the platform. Background check approval is a required part of the trainer onboarding process and must be completed before a trainer profile can become active for bookings.
How much does it cost to join DAWG as a trainer?
DAWG offers two trainer subscription options: Free Plan Free to join and use Up to 5 training sessions per month Access to core DAWG platform features Pro Plan $29.99 per month Unlimited training sessions Designed for trainers who want to grow their client base without session limits Trainers can choose the plan that best fits their needs and upgrade or manage their subscription through their DAWG account.
How do I get paid?
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Eligible trainer earnings are transferred to your designated payout account according to the payout schedule and policies outlined by DAWG.
When do I receive payment for a session?
Trainer payouts are processed through Stripe, DAWG's payment processing partner. The timing of your payout may vary depending on Stripe's processing schedules and your account settings. You can view your payout status, transfer history, and estimated deposit dates directly through the Stripe account connected during your trainer onboarding process. If you have questions about a specific payout, we recommend reviewing your Stripe dashboard first, as it contains the most up-to-date payment information.
Can I set my own rates?
Yes. Trainers set their own rates based on their experience, qualifications, training style, and the value they provide to athletes and guardians. The rate displayed on your trainer profile reflects the amount you charge for your services. During checkout, DAWG's applicable platform fee is added separately to the booking total before the guardian completes payment through Stripe. This allows trainers to control their pricing while providing transparency regarding platform-related fees during the booking process. Trainers can update their pricing through their DAWG account at any time, subject to any applicable platform policies.
How do athletes find me?
Athletes and guardians can discover trainers through the DAWG Trainers page. The Trainers page includes a distance filter that allows guardians to search for trainers within a specified number of miles from their location. They can also filter trainers by sport and position to find trainers that best match their training goals and needs. Keeping your profile complete, up-to-date, and detailed can help improve your visibility and help athletes and guardians determine whether you're the right fit for their training needs.
Can I offer multiple sports or training specialties?
Yes. Trainers can list multiple sports, positions, and training specialties on their profile. This allows athletes and guardians to find you when searching for specific sports, positions, or areas of expertise. We encourage trainers to accurately represent their experience and specialties to help athletes find the best training fit for their goals. Keeping your profile information up to date can help improve your visibility in search results and attract more potential clients.
Can I choose when I am available?
Yes. Trainers have full control over their availability and can choose the days and times they are available for training sessions. Availability is managed through the Availability page within the DAWG app, where trainers can set, update, and adjust their available training times as needed. Keeping your availability up to date helps athletes and guardians find and book sessions that fit both of your schedules. Only the time slots you make available on the Availability page will be eligible for booking through the platform.
What happens if I need to cancel a session?
If you need to cancel a scheduled session, you can do so through the DAWG app. We encourage trainers to cancel only when necessary and to provide as much notice as possible to the athlete or guardian. Session cancellations may impact refunds, rescheduling options, and other booking-related outcomes. For complete details, please refer to DAWG's Refund & Cancellation Policy. Maintaining reliable attendance and communication helps create a positive experience for athletes and guardians and can contribute to your reputation on the platform.
Can I decline a session request?
Yes. When a guardian requests a training session, trainers have the ability to review the request and either accept or decline it. If a request is accepted, the session will proceed through the booking process. If a request is declined, the guardian will be notified and will have the opportunity to explore other training options. To provide the best experience for athletes and guardians, we encourage trainers to keep their availability up to date and respond to booking requests promptly.
How do reviews work?
After a training session is completed, guardians have the opportunity to leave a review based on their experience with the trainer. Reviews help athletes and guardians make informed decisions when selecting a trainer and can help build trust within the DAWG community. We encourage trainers to ask guardians for reviews following successful training sessions. Positive reviews can strengthen your profile, showcase your reputation, and help attract future clients.
Is DAWG my employer?
No. Trainers who use DAWG are independent service providers and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of DAWG. DAWG provides a platform that helps connect trainers with athletes and guardians, facilitates bookings, and processes payments. Trainers are responsible for their own business operations, training services, certifications, insurance, taxes, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. For additional information regarding your relationship with DAWG, please refer to the Terms of Service.
How do I increase bookings?
There are several ways to increase your visibility and attract more athletes and guardians on DAWG: Complete your profile with a professional photo, bio, experience, and specialties. Keep your availability updated so athletes can easily find open training times. Set competitive pricing that reflects your experience and value. Encourage guardians to leave reviews after successful training sessions. Share your DAWG profile link with athletes, guardians, teams, and local sports communities. Promote your profile on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and X. Respond promptly to booking requests and messages. Building a strong profile, maintaining a positive reputation, and actively sharing your profile are some of the most effective ways to grow your training business through DAWG.
Who handles payment disputes or refund requests?
Payment disputes and refund requests are handled by DAWG in accordance with our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Platform Fee Policy. If a guardian has questions regarding a charge, refund eligibility, or a canceled session, they should contact DAWG support for assistance. In some cases, payment processing may also involve Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
